Meet the Veterans of the 365th Fighter Bomb Group
H. Mortimer Favrot Orientation Center

Hear the stories of several veterans of the 365th Bomb Group, known as the Hell Hawks. Historian John Crump will moderate the panel of veterans as they share memories of their efforts supporting, servicing, and flying the P-47 Thunderbolt in close air support to help free Europe. Part of the Ninth Air Force, the group was on the front lines from the Normandy landings of June 6, 1944, until the final days of the European conflict. Their actions removed obstacles to the Allied ground forces and sent them deep into German territory, earning them two Distinguished Unit Citations.
