Special Event - "Victory at Home: New Orleans During World War II"

Please join us for a special event featuring the war workers of World War II. Learn about Simplex motorcycles, Higgins boats, Prager machinery, and the men and women who manufactured victory.

Dr. Charles Chamberlain, author of Victory at Home: Manpower and Race in the American South During World War II, will moderate this special presentation focusing on the diverse war workers and industries in New Orleans during World War II. The program will intersperse newsreels and propaganda images from the war years with firsthand accounts from those who recall New Orleans in the 1940s and its important role in the Arsenal of Democracy.
