Presentation - "From Their Fathers: Children of POWs Share Stories and Artifacts"
Stage Door Canteen

Moderated by special exhibition curator Kimberly Guise, this panel will bring together children and grandchildren of men held as POWs during WWII. When Bruce and Barry Worrell donated their father’s POW diary to the Museum (to be featured in the exhibit), they spoke about getting to know their dad "as a man" through his journal. Debra Miller Yenni did not grow up with her father, but first learned to know him and understand some of his actions through his diary. Andrew Gabriel published a book about his beloved grandfather’s POW log. How did the experiences endured by POWs affect their families? How are the sacrifices and efforts of our fathers transferred to or interpreted by the next generation? For more information call 504-528-1944 x 229. Reservations are recommended.
