Walt Burgoyne presents "Coastwatchers"

Years before the Japanese launched their extremely effective Pacific conquest strategy to open World War II in the Pacific, the Australian government had recognized the threat they posed to peace and stability in the region—and to Australia itself. Knowing that "Forewarned is forearmed," they set up the Coastwatcher network on Pacific islands. Never heard of them? In the words of Adm. William F. "Bull" Halsey, "The Coastwatchers saved Guadalcanal—and Guadalcanal saved the Pacific."
