Don Bolton is a movie star who can't stand loud noises. To evade the draft, he decides to get married, but falls for a colonel's daughter, Antoinette, known as “Tony.” By mistake, he and his two cronies enlist. In basic training, Don hopes to make a good impression on the fair Antoinette and her father, but his military career is largely slapstick. Will he ever get his corporal's stripes?

In conjunction with the Museum’s new special exhibit, So Ready for Laughter: The Legacy of Bob Hope, on display in The Joe W. and Dorothy D. Brown Foundation Special Exhibit Gallery from May 25, 2018, through February 10, 2019, we will be hosting a free film series on select Monday evenings in BB’s Stage Door Canteen from May 14 through December 3, featuring classic Bob Hope films from 1939–1955.

In addition to the film screenings, themed drinks will be offered from The American Sector Restaurant & Bar, treats will be offered on special months, and free tickets to BB’s Stage Door Canteen shows will be raffled off. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and all free screenings start at 6:00 p.m.
