Rick Jacobs presents "The 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Falaise Gap"

In July 1944, after six weeks of bitter fighting in the bocage country of Normandy, the Allied front was only 60 miles wide and 20 miles deep. Two weeks later Patton’s legendary Third Army was in position to cut off the German Seventh Army in the Falaise Pocket. Or were they? The war that might have ended by Christmas dragged on for eight more bloody months. One of the most hotly debated controversies of the war is how they got away. Join Captain Rick Jacobs as he discusses what was and what might have been at the climax of the battle for Normandy. For more information call 504-528-1944 x 229.
