Family Workshop: Navy School
Louisiana Memorial Pavilion

Whether in the Atlantic or the Pacific, it was the US Navy’s job to control the high seas. In the Navy School Family Workshop, participants will get their sea legs as they learn some of the skills of basic seamanship including semaphore and naval flag signaling, knot tying, and navigation. Participants will also take part in a kid-friendly ‘Crossing The Line’ ceremony to complete their journey from ‘Pollywog’ learners to ‘Shellback’ veterans. Workshops are designed for children ages 8 – 12. Advance ticket purchased is required. 1 adult per 3 kids must attend.

Cost: $9 per child, free for Museum members. Regular Museum admission applies for families who wish to spend the day at the Museum. Discount for attendees available onsite.
