Karen Bentley, an English secret agent, links up with Larry Haines and his star penguin Percy in an attempt to outwit German spies.

This American comedy, directed by Sidney Lanfield, stars Bob Hope as Larry and Madeleine Carroll as Karen.

Spy costumes encouraged! At the end of the evening, we’ll give away a prize for best spy gear.

Happy Hour Film Series:

In conjunction with the Museum’s new special exhibit, So Ready for Laughter: The Legacy of Bob Hope, on display in The Joe W. and Dorothy D. Brown Foundation Special Exhibit Gallery from May 25, 2018, through February 10, 2019, we will be hosting a free film series on select Monday evenings in BB’s Stage Door Canteen from May 14 through December 3, featuring classic Bob Hope films from 1939–1955.

In addition to the film screenings, themed drinks will be offered from The American Sector Restaurant & Bar, treats will be offered on special months, and free tickets to BB’s Stage Door Canteen shows will be raffled off. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and all free screenings start at 6:00 p.m.

The story of how Bob Hope gave levity and laughter to troops during one of the most brutal conflicts in human history is a crucial component of the history of the war—and a demonstration of how humanity can shine through in the darkest of times.
