The 2014 International Conference on World War II, 1944: Beyond All Boundaries, will cover the build-up and preparations for the explosive Allied advances of the summer of 1944. Top scholars in the WWII field will explore key battles, personalities and controversies — including why despite these great successes victory was not complete by year's end.

Due to the massive scope of this year’s International Conference on WWII and incredible demand — by visitors and presenters alike — the Museum has created a special one-day symposium to discuss 1944’s most thrilling operation: D-Day in Normandy. For a limited audience, eight top scholars will delve into D-Day strategy and planning, the airborne assault, and the beach landings. A roundtable discussion will feature all of the day’s speakers to close the day’s events, wrapping up just in time for the opening reception of the general conference. Please note: Attendees traveling with companions who are not participating in the conference but sharing accommodations will pay the single occupancy rate.
