Barry Simon presents "Scars and Stars: American Fighting Ships, Their Engagements, and Their Sacrifices"

Two ships—the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise and the cruiser USS New Orleans—represented the top battle-star earners among American fighting ships in World War II. Both of these ships were floating communities, with crews who possessed immense pride in their respective posts. Barry Simon joins us to go in detail on their engagements, and their sacrifices, along the way.

Lunchbox Lectures are free and open to the public on every first and third Wednesday of the month. For more information call 504-528-1944 x 463.
