Tommy Lofton presents “Doughnut Dollies: Women of the American Red Cross Clubmobile Service”

In WWII, the American Red Cross provided recreational services to servicemen in various theaters of operation. The women were taught to make doughnuts and coffee in the clubmobile in England, and were then sent to France after D-Day to be attached to various US Army Corps. The service continued through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany until VE Day. Historian Tommy Lofton will share stories of several of the women and their experience in combats zones across Europe, in the often-overlooked service of women in the American Red Cross.
