Maxine Giannini presents Drawing D-Day: An Artist’s Journey Through War

Maxine is the wife and widow of Ugo Giannini, an artist and WWII veteran of the 29th Infantry Division. On June 6, 1944, Ugo Giannini landed on Omaha Beach at H+70 minutes as one of a platoon of military police assigned to the 29th Division and spent that day and part of the next as an eyewitness to the greatest invasion ever conceived. He began to draw. These are the only drawings made that historic day, as well as the next. This book is the story of one man, in the context of World War II, and Maxine will share the stories and images that Ugo carried with him.
