US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center

This patriotic program in the new US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center will include Aaron Copland’s "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "Lincoln Portrait," Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday" and "Belle of the Ball," and the world premiere of Jake Runestad’s "Dreams of the Fallen." "Dreams of the Fallen" explores a soldier's emotional response to the experience of war through the combined musical forces of solo piano, chorus and orchestra with powerful texts written by Iraq War veteran and award-winning poet Brian Turner. Led by new music enthusiast and respected pianist Jeffrey Biegel, a consortium of orchestras and choirs has been assembled for this exciting new commission.

Tickets are $45 for General Admission and $100 for reserved seating with a patron reception. Ticket are currently available through the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra website.





About the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra

Formed in 1991, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra is the longest-standing musician-governed and operated orchestra in the United States and the only full-time professional orchestra in the Gulf South. The Orchestra is dedicated to maintaining live symphonic music and a full-scale symphonic orchestra as an integral part of the culture and educational life of the New Orleans area, the state of Louisiana, and the entire Gulf South region. The LPO is committed to creativity and innovation toward a fine artistic product; extraordinary audience experiences; unique governance shared between musicians and community stakeholders; responsible financial decision-making; and recognition and rewards that attract and retain high-quality talent.

The LPO offers a 36-week season with more than 120 performances, including classics, light classics, pops, education, family, and park concerts in New Orleans and across a multi-Parish area. In addition, the LPO collaborates with and provides orchestral support for other cultural and performing arts organizations, including New Orleans Opera Association, Symphony Chorus of New Orleans, New Orleans Ballet Association, and Delta Festival Ballet. The LPO’s education and outreach work encompasses partnerships with K-12 education institutions, Louisiana universities, and communities in the twelve-parish area. LPO musicians, many with graduate degrees and Ph.D.’s, provide tenure and adjunct music faculty for area universities, offer private instruction, and mentor students in the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra.
