Veterans Day at The National WWII Museum

This year's Veterans Day takes on a Gallic tone at The National World War II Museum as France's Legion of Honor Commander Admiral Brac de La Perrière presents the Normandy Liberty Bell to the institution. The bell is an exact replica of the Philadelphia original and a gift from the French people.  General Gratien Maire, head of the Military Mission of the French Embassy to the U.S. will bestow the Legion of Honor – France’s highest honor -- on five Louisiana WWII vets, two posthumously. Various French and American dignitaries will be on hand for the colorful ceremony. The New Orleans De La Salle High School will perform stirring and patriotic music.
