Kim Guise presents "Chow Time: Feeding an Army in Word World II"

Come and get it! Ever have corn willie or bacon ducks prepared by greasepots and doughpunchers and washed down by bamboo juice or cat beer? Hear about the task of feeding an army, what GIs ate in the field and how holidays were celebrated while in service during WWII. Learn the lingo and use your fightin’ tools (utensils) in a finer mess hall experience. Get a closer look at artifacts such as wartime rations, canteens, mess kits and menus.

Dinner with a Curator is a seasonal series where Museum staff and guests discuss a featured topic related to World War II while enjoying a delicious three-course dinner. All dinners catered by Chef John Besh at the Museum’s American Sector restaurant. Space is limited. Reservations are required.
