Rick Jacobs presents “The 70th Anniversary of Okinawa”

Okinawa was the bloodiest US battle in the Pacific. Foregoing their customary banzai charges, the Japanese had to be assailed in one well-fortified position after another in fighting that resembled trench warfare in the Great War. Tethered to operations on the island, Okinawa was the Calvary of the US Navy with 400 ships sunk or damaged by kamikaze aircraft. Please join Captain Rick Jacobs as he discusses the climactic battle of the war against Japan.
